Wow did I have fun last week! Ten little girls joined me and my trusty camera for tea! One of my friends and regular photographing customers asked if I would be willing to have a tea setup for her daughters upcoming fifth birthday. With this small request, here is what resulted! There was loads of fun searching for the perfect pink frilly items for the setup however it was not something I would want to do for each photo experience! Something for the boys will be offered eventually but what theme has yet to be unveiled to me. I’ll keep you all posted when it becomes a reality!

spring! {capturer of moments}

Can you fell spring is coming? I’ve seen a few blooms popping up here and there, with them brings hope in my heart! Not only do I so enjoy the warmer weather so my family can be outside! I also look forward to getting back to capturing moments for my special clients.

In other news, my time lately has been filled with a fun new program at the school. Participating 2nd and 3rd graders are running a marathon! With the help of Dana & Louise at School Marathon, we kick started our program this week, tackling one mile at a time, reaching up to a total of 26.2! Sadly the weather hasn’t been in our favor but we’re doing what we can – running during recess! Seeing the eyes of these kids so excited to exercise and helping to encourage each other has been so heartwarming to see! Jameson, among a few of his classmates, is in the photo above. Love this boy!

Wow! I can hardly believe the end of 2012 is upon us! As a small token of thanks, there will be a giveaway of prizes worth over $900! The giveaway will consist of three rounds with one winner each round. To help spread the joy, each winner will get to give away the same prize to another person to make a total of six winners. The prize for the first round will be a personalized iPhone (4,4s or 5) case. Round two prize is a set of 50 – 4 x 5.5 custom folded cards. The final prize is a $350 gift certificate for Jill Jarvis Photography to be used in 2013 (winners must be within 50 miles of 29693 or 44319)!

Giveaway will run from January 1 – 8, 2013.

Following are the details:
* There will be three rounds with 3 separate images for the various prizes. The giveaway will be run on the Jill Jarvis Photography fan page on Facebook. An image for each prize will be posted and to enter you must tag yourself in each image only once.
* Round 1 will run from noon on January 1, 2013 until 11:59 am on January 3, 2013. The winner of the personalized iPhone case will be selected at random from those that are tagged in the image.
* Round 2 will run from noon on January 3, 2013 until 11:59 am on January 5, 2013. The winner of the set of 50 – 4 x 5.5 custom folded cards will be selected at random from those that are tagged in the image.
* Round 3 will run from noon on January 5, 2013 until 11:59 am on January 8, 2013. The winner of the $350 gift certificate for Jill Jarvis Photography is to be used in 2013 and will be selected at random from those that are tagged in the image.
* The winners of the round 1 & 2 prizes will have the option of using images captured by Jill Jarvis Photography or to have a creation made using digital goodies from Mel at DomesticatedLady.com.
* The 3 winners by random selection of the tagged participants will have 7 days to determine the recipient of their identical prize.
* Recipients of the gift certificates if they choose to use their prize for an image capturing experience it must take place in 2013 and be within 50 miles of 29693 or 44319 zip code.
* Jill Jarvis Photography will verify that all tagged individuals are not duplicate entries.
* Winners will be notified and announced no later than Friday, January 11, 2013.

I am sitting here listening to Christmas music, working on designing Christmas cards for some amazing clients and marveling at how infrequently the weblog has been updated this year. For anyone that I’ve disappointed, I am truly sorry. The action has and will continue to happen on the facebook fan page. Post a comment here if you are not active on facebook and would like to see more frequent posts on the weblog.

Wow where does the time go…for me it was a summer spent majorily disconnected from my computer! Loved having more face to face time with my family and friends! This little weblog suffered though. What has kept me from posting an update…a mix between spending time with family at the beach, being there for a dear friend that had a fire at her house, setting up spring seasonal experiences for an upcoming trip to Ohio, as well as photographing sweet kiddos for a local preschool. Yes you read that correctly, I’ve officially ventured into the business of being a school photographer! If you’d like unique school portraits offered for your child’s preschool, let me know!

Have you noticed a few changing here on the weblog? I have officially made the switch to the new Jill Jarvis Photography logo!

Cultivate is back again for 2012! If you have a Digital SLR but aren’t using the camera to its full potential…this 3.5 hour cultivate class is for you. I will be discussing the exposure triangle, composition & lots of Q&A. More information can be found HERE. Don’t miss this event on March 10th!

2012 is here! {photographer}

Wow where does the time go? I must appologize that the weblog has not been on the top of my list to maintain. Preparing galleries for customers has jumped ahead of the blog posts. The action is all happening on the fan page – check it out! With the start of each new year I personally like to take a pulse check and see where things stand, both personally and professionally. Personally 2011 was an emotional year for our family but we are happy to share the we are now officially the parents of our second son, Jace. Adoption is such a neat thing and we are so happy that we are the chosen forever family for this sweet little man!

Professionally, I’m working on goals for Jill Jarvis Photography and setting a tentative schedule for photo experiences in Ohio and seasonal moments. If you have any requests to have your moments captured, contact me!
